Bison

Often called a buffalo, bison are large herbivores that were once common in the Great Plains and the Southwest.  Due to over hunting and habitat loss, bison populations have drastically decreased.  Bison now live in large state parks such as Yellowstone, and are often raised on ranches for food.  A full-grown male bison can reach 2022 pounds!
