Lesser Prairie Chicken

The reddish orange sacks on the Lesser Prairie Chicken are used during courtship displays.  Males inflate the sacks, spread their head and tail feathers, and strut to attract a female.  They also use cooing and loud "booming" calls to attract mates, and defend territories.
