Western Prairie Fringed Orchid

This plant produces as many as twenty tiny, delicate white flowers every spring.  As with most orchids, this plant is listed as a U.S. endangered species.  This means that there are very few individuals left growing in the wild.  There is a danger that it may become extinct without federal protection and special management of its habitat.
