Woodhouse's Toad

This dry weather toad flourishes in short-grass prairies.  The woodhouse toad lives its entire adult life in the dry, short-grass prairie, although it needs some standing water to lay its eggs.  The insects that live in the grasses make a fabulous meal for these toads.
