Yucca

Yucca is an important plant in the short grass prairies due to its varied uses.  The fruit of the yucca can be eaten either fresh or roasted.  The leaves can be woven into blankets, baskets, shoes, or a variety of other things.  Even the yucca roots are important.  Native Americans used the roots to make soap.
